Genesis Owusu Set to Perform at Sydney Opera House: Exciting Announcement!

Genesis Owusu is set to return to the Sydney Opera House this September for an exciting two-night residency in the Studio. The performances are scheduled for Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2025.

These shows will feature a unique in-the-round performance style, with support from the talented punk trio, Shady Nasty. Fans can look forward to both unreleased material from his upcoming album and reimagined versions of his favorite tracks.

Event Highlights

Owusu will be showcasing a series called ‘Redstar Wu’s Neighbourhood Jams’ during these performances. His four-piece band will help create an intimate atmosphere as he engages with his audience.

Owusu’s Sentiments

“I’ve been missing seeing you guys, my community! I want to chat, I want to play some music, and I want to see how you’re all doing. Let’s keep it intimate for now. Small capacity, few nights in a row, residency style. Me, you, and my band. We’re going to call these shows ‘Redstar Wu’s Neighbourhood Jams.’ See ya there x,” Owusu remarked, expressing his excitement for the upcoming events.

Previous Engagements

This residency marks Owusu’s anticipated return to the Opera House after his collaboration with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2023, as well as a surprise appearance at Vivid LIVE 2024.
