Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to Embark on Rush Tour in 2026

## Rush’s 50th-Anniversary Tour Announcement

Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are set to hit the road next year for a tour celebrating the band’s 50-year legacy. This special tour honors their late bandmate Neil Peart and is titled the Fifty Something Tour. German drumming prodigy Anika Nilles, known for her work with Jeff Beck, will join them on this 12-date, seven-city journey. The tour kicks off June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the same venue where Rush performed their final show with Peart in August 2015.

### A Celebration of Rush’s Legacy

In a recent press release, Lee shared their excitement about returning to music. “After all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it,” he stated. Lee emphasized the importance of celebrating the extensive history of Rush music, noting it’s time to rejoice in their artistic journey.

### Welcoming New Talent

Finding Anika Nilles, a talented drummer skilled in the unconventional time signatures that define Rush’s sound, was no small feat. “As we all know, Neil was irreplaceable,” Lee remarked. However, he expressed optimism about Nilles’ contributions to their ongoing musical narrative. “We’re excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated Rush fan base, who we know will give her every chance to embrace this challenging role.”

### Family Support for the Tour

The tour has the full backing of Peart’s widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and his daughter, Olivia. They released a joint statement expressing their enthusiasm for the Fifty Something Tour. “We are thrilled to support the Fifty Something Tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, while honoring Neil’s extraordinary legacy,” they noted. They also affirmed Peart’s unique musicianship, emphasizing he was irreplaceable as both a drummer and lyricist.

The tour announcement coincides with the release of *Rush 50*, a comprehensive 50-track anthology that encapsulates their entire career.
