Foo Fighters Sign New Drummer: Exciting Changes Ahead

## Foo Fighters Welcome Ilan Rubin as New Drummer

Just a few months after parting ways with drummer Josh Freese, the Foo Fighters have officially brought Ilan Rubin on board. Known for his performances with Nine Inch Nails, Rubin will be stepping in to fill the vacant drumming position in the band.

### The Transition

A source has confirmed to Variety that Rubin will replace Freese as the Foo Fighters’ drummer. Initially, the band’s upcoming shows in October will feature Rubin, although it remains uncertain whether this role will become a permanent arrangement. The Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform in various locations including Jakarta, Singapore, and Mexico City soon.

### Unexpected Turns

In an intriguing turn of events, Freese will be taking on the role of touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails during their forthcoming ‘Peel It Back’ tour. He previously played with the band from 2005 to 2008. Interestingly, Rubin was expected to join this tour but declined, citing a new commitment.

### Ilan Rubin’s Background

Rubin has an impressive portfolio, having collaborated with Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves, and Paramore. In 2020, he made history as the youngest inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his contributions to Nine Inch Nails.

### Josh Freese’s Experience
