Fashion Retail Academy Marks 20 Years with New Ambassador Appointments

The Fashion Retail Academy (FRA) has revealed the inclusion of five new ambassadors as part of its celebration of two decades in operation. This move aims to enhance the academy’s connections to the industry and underscore its vital role in equipping students for careers in fashion and retail.
New Ambassadors for the FRA
The academy notes that these ambassadorships are voluntary roles dedicated to promoting its profile, expanding its network of industry partnerships, and guiding students as they transition into the workforce. Lee Lucas, CEO and principal, emphasized the significance of these connections: “Our strong ties to the industry remain fundamental to our success in nurturing the next generation of leaders in fashion and retail,” he shared in a press statement.
Impact of the FRA
Established in 2005 with backing from major retailers like Marks & Spencer, Next, and Tesco’s F&F, the FRA has prepared over 13,000 students for initial roles in fashion and retail. Impressively, 94 percent of its further education graduates either secure employment or continue their studies within six months of finishing their courses. The academy collaborates with more than 250 brands spanning the fashion industry, ranging from high street to luxury labels.
This announcement follows the previous appointment of Lord Rose, the former chief executive of Marks & Spencer, as the FRA’s inaugural patron in 2024.
