Farah Khan Discusses IVF Journey During Om Shanti Om

In a candid podcast discussion with Sania Mirza on “Serving It Up With Sania,” Bollywood director Farah Khan opened up about her struggles with IVF while working on “Om Shanti Om.” Farah was among the first public figures to share her IVF experience openly, highlighting the challenges that came with it, including severe nausea and the need for daily injections.

Farah Khan talks about her IVF journey and her husband Shirish Kunder’s support.

Overcoming Challenges of IVF

Farah described the emotional rollercoaster of her IVF experience. She emphasized how difficult it was back then for celebrities to talk about IVF openly, as it was often considered taboo. After the birth of her triplets, she began advocating for egg freezing and IVF to others in her community.

Support from Shirish Kunder

Farah appreciated her husband Shirish Kunder’s unwavering support throughout her IVF process. He accompanied her to hospital visits and took care of her daily needs, insisting that “even if it didn’t work, it was okay.” Farah shared that, despite the challenges, Shirish’s belief in family meant everything to him.

The couple, who married in 2004 after meeting on the set of “Main Hoon Na,” welcomed their triplets in 2008. Farah tends to keep her family life private, sharing only glimpses of her experiences as a mother and wife.

Reflecting on her journey, Farah’s story serves as a testament to resilience and the importance of having supportive partners during challenging times.
