Experience the SG60 National Day Concert with Kit Chan, Taufik Batisah & More

Join the festivities at The Meadow in Gardens by the Bay on August 3! This exciting day will feature live performances, a carnival atmosphere, food stalls, and a stunning fireworks display, all in honor of SG60. The event marks the seventh edition of the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert (NDC) and kicks off at 4:30 PM, with free admission for all.

This year’s concert theme is “Ties That Bloom,” hosted by beloved personalities including Gurmit Singh, Nithiya Rao, Yasminne Cheng, and Zhin Sadali.

Performers to Look Forward To

Music enthusiasts can enjoy a community singalong led by local icon Kit Chan, who will perform her cherished National Day Parade anthem, *Home*. This will be complemented by live sign language interpretation from Faaiqah Alkaff. Kit Chan will be joined by singer-songwriter Charlie Lim to perform this year’s NDP song, *Here We Are*.

Local star Taufik Batisah will present *Di Tanjong Katong*, *Chan Mali Chan*, and other favorites, alongside 10-year-old prodigy, Lyla Ng.

Additionally, Chua Lee Lian from Mediacorp radio station Love 972 will share her song *Friendship Forever*, while jazz artist Alemay Fernandez offers a touching rendition of *One People, One Nation, One Singapore*. Choreographer Meenakshy Bhaskar will lead young talents in an energetic performance of the folk classic *Munnaeru Vaalibaa*.

Other notable performances include those by Mediacorp artiste-singer JJ Neo and her mother Lucy Chow; Cultural Medallion recipient Rahimah Rahim with her sister Rozie and granddaughter ALY; and a variety of local artists including the Tay sisters, Annetha Ayyavoo with Mark Sara, Shazza and her NP Voices a cappella group from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and rapper Yung Raja presenting his latest single, *Miss Call*.

Emotional Tributes and Festivities

The Purple Symphony (TPS), Singapore’s largest inclusive orchestra, will perform a heartfelt medley of beloved local tunes in honor of Singapore’s 60th birthday. Audiences will also witness the live debut of this year’s NDC song, *Ties That Bloom*, by Hady Mirza, available on melisten.

Concert-goers can look forward to engaging activities beginning at 4:30 PM. The Taste zone will showcase a lively food street offering local favorites such as popiah and laksa.

Visitors can play classic childhood games at the Play booths, including oversized eraser battles and tikam-tikam booths. In the Create section, attendees can write heartfelt messages for the nation on giant tingkat installations, capture precious memories at art displays, and enjoy hands-on craft activities like neon wire crafting and satay keychain workshops.

For a unique keepsake, exclusive T-shirts featuring designs from Mediacorp’s Design Pompipi Competition will be up for grabs through blind boxes at S$10 each. Each shirt reflects youthful perspectives on what Singapore means to its youth.

All proceeds from these sales will support Gardens by the Bay’s community outreach initiative, Gift of Gardens, which offers free access to the conservatories for residents in need and individuals with disabilities.

The concert will be televised on mewatch, Channel 5, and Mediacoop Entertainment on YouTube on Saturday, August 16, from 7:30 PM to 9 PM.
