Exciting Reunion Plans: Mingyu and Jungkook’s Dance Challenge on the Horizon?

SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and BTS’ Jungkook are well-known friends in the K-pop scene. They have performed on stage together during year-end specials, creating a solid bond. Alongside fellow members DK, The8, and other idols like GOT7’s Yugyeom and BamBam, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and NCT’s Jaehyun, they form a close-knit group. Even after Jungkook’s return from military service, he hasn’t been seen with this circle, although they kept in touch during his enlistment. Mingyu recently shared his excitement about their upcoming reunion, hinting they might tackle the Thunder dance challenge together.

During a Weverse livestream on July 13, the Shake It Off star opened up about his travels and expressed his lack of awareness regarding the other members’ schedules. He was surprised by news surrounding his upcoming collaboration with SEVENTEEN’s leader S.Coups. When fan questions led to discussions about Jungkook, Mingyu didn’t shy away from expressing his thoughts.

Mingyu Talks About the Dance Challenge

In the livestream, when asked about potentially doing the Thunder dance challenge with Jungkook, Mingyu responded, “Jungkook isn’t in South Korea. He probably isn’t around. If we have a chance to meet, we’ll film it since we’re not in a hurry to get it done.” This comment shows the K-pop stars’ casual approach to their future collaboration.

Previous Performances Together

Mingyu and Jungkook have previously showcased their chemistry through performances like SEVENTEEN’s “Super,” eliciting enthusiastic reactions. Their skit, in which Mingyu mimicked a naive junior to Jungkook’s seasoned senior, added to the fun, while Mingyu also paid homage by dancing to some of Jungkook’s solo hits, including “SEVEN” and “3D” (ft. Jack Harlow). Each interaction between these two beloved stars captures fans’ hearts and goes viral.

What are your thoughts on the potential Thunder challenge between Mingyu and Jungkook? Would you like to see more collaborations between your favorite K-pop stars?
