The creative team behind Spilt Milk is set to introduce an exciting new country music festival this year. The festival, named Strummingbird, will tour three vibrant locations: the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, and Perth, taking place in late 2025.
Festival Schedule
Strummingbird will commence on Saturday, October 25th, at Sunshine Coast/Kabi Kabi Country. Following this, it will move to Newcastle/Awabakal Country on Saturday, November 1st, before concluding in Perth/Whadjuk Country on Sunday, November 2nd.
What to Expect
The complete lineup of artists is slated for announcement on Thursday, July 31st. Attendees can look forward to an array of activities, including line dancing, a variety of food and beverage options, themed merchandise, and even a sideshow alley featuring a mechanical bull.
About the Organizers
Strummingbird is a part of Kicks Entertainment’s expanding event portfolio, which also includes the well-known Spilt Milk festival. Collaborating with Live Nation, Strummingbird seeks to merge traditional country music roots with contemporary elements, appealing to both seasoned fans and newcomers alike.
Ticket Information
Pre-sale tickets for the festival will be available starting Thursday, August 7th, with general ticket sales opening on Friday, August 8th. Details regarding presale access can be found at the official Strummingbird website.
Market Demand and Context
This announcement follows the notable demand for tickets with the 2025 edition of Spilt Milk, which saw its most successful on-sale period to date. Noteworthy artists, including rap sensation Kendrick Lamar and Grammy winner Doechii, will be part of the 2025 Spilt Milk lineup.
Strummingbird’s launch also occurs amid the backdrop of recent cancellations of major Australian festivals in 2024, such as Splendour in the Grass and Groovin the Moo. Furthermore, Spilt Milk had to cancel its 2024 event after previous editions hosted popular performers like Post Malone and Dermot Kennedy.
