English Release Date for Kantara Chapter 1: Rishab Shetty’s Film Duration Revealed

Kantara Chapter 1 has performed impressively, surpassing the ₹765 crore mark globally since its launch on October 2. The film will soon be available in English, as Rishab Shetty, who both directed and starred in the hit, revealed on social media.
Kantara Chapter 1 to get English release
Rishab announced that the film will be released in English on October 31 globally. He shared a new poster, stating, “A divine saga that resonates beyond borders and languages! #KantaraChapter1 English Version releasing in cinemas worldwide from October 31st. Experience the epic journey of faith, culture, and devotion in all its glory.”
The poster indicates that while the original runtime is 2 hours and 48 minutes, the English version will be trimmed to 2 hours and 14 minutes.
A press release confirms that this makes Kantara Chapter 1 the first Indian film to have an English-dubbed theatrical release so soon after the original premiere. Fans have expressed excitement on social media, with comments like, “If Apocalypto made it big in Hollywood, why not Kantara?”
About Kantara Chapter 1
Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to Rishab’s 2022 success, which showcased the Tulu tradition of Daiva Kola/Bhuta Kola. Set in pre-colonial India, the story follows Berme (played by Rishab), a tribal man who stands up against the local aristocracy to defend hispeople’s dignity. Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram also star in key roles, with production by Hombale Films.
