Dude box office collection day 4: Director Keerthiswaran’s first film, Dude, debuted in theaters on October 17, ahead of Diwali. The movie features Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju, and has garnered mixed reviews, particularly regarding the second half of the film. It has successfully crossed the ₹40 crore milestone in India since its release.
As reported by trade sources, Dude earned approximately ₹10 crore net on its first Monday, pushing its total domestic earnings to about ₹40.75 crore. The film maintained its numbers on Monday during the holiday but did not see a significant increase. It opened with ₹9.75 crore, and its weekend collections included ₹10.4 crore on Saturday and ₹10.6 crore on Sunday. Notably, it has been performing noticeably better in the Tamil market compared to its Telugu audience.
Sarathkumar, who portrayed Minister Athiyamaan Azhagappan in Dude, celebrated Diwali by attending a theater screening with fans and director Keerthiswaran. Sharing a selfie, he commented, “We watched the film with the fans, who joyously celebrated its success.”
Dude is a production by Mythri Movie Makers and features music composed by Sai Abhyankar. The movie centers on two young characters, Agan (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Kural (Mamitha Baiju), whose lives take unexpected turns following a marriage proposal. In addition to the leads, the film also stars Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, and Neha Shetty. Impressively, Dude has surpassed ₹60 crore globally during its opening weekend.
