Diljit Dosanjh Shares Love Amid Sikh Group’s Concert Disruption Threat
Diljit Dosanjh Responds to Concert Controversy
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is currently on his captivating Asia-Pacific Aura Tour, bringing joy to fans. Recently, he stirred controversy during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 by touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet, an act that sparked backlash ahead of his concert in Melbourne on November 1.
Message of Love Amidst Tension
The Sikh group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) threatened to disrupt his upcoming concert. In response, Diljit shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of love and unity despite facing criticism and trolling. His emotional speech at his Brisbane concert underlined his commitment to spreading positivity.
“For me, this Earth is one… I will always spread the message of love,” he stated.
He elaborated on the significance of manifestation, encouraging his audience to think positively about their aspirations without overthinking the details.
The Underlying Controversy
The SFJ’s threats arise during Sikh Genocide Remembrance Month. According to reports, SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun accused Diljit of disrespecting victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide by honoring Bachchan, whom he alleged incited violence against Sikhs during that time.
These comments triggered a public outcry, with claims that touching Bachchan’s feet was an affront to the memory of those who suffered during the tragic events of 1984.
About the Aura Tour
Diljit commenced his Aura Tour on September 24 in Kuala Lumpur, followed by performances in various cities including Sydney and Brisbane. His future concerts in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and Auckland showcase his ongoing connection with fans, culminating in Bangkok on December 7.
In addition to his music, Diljit is set to star in the upcoming film Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, slated for release on January 22. The film will feature actors like Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, adding to his illustrious career.
