Was Hrithik Roshan Considered for Prabhas’ Role in Baahubali?
In a recent discussion, producer Shobu Yarlagadda shed light on the much-anticipated release of Baahubali: The Epic and addressed the rumors surrounding Prabhas’ casting.
Since the announcement of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Epic, which combines Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, speculation has circulated about Hrithik Roshan being approached to portray the character originally played by Prabhas. In an interview with Gulte, Yarlagadda clarified these claims, stating:
Rumors have suggested Hrithik Roshan was supposed to play the role Prabhas is known for in Baahubali.
Clarification on Casting Choices
Following the buzz around Baahubali: The Epic, many assumed Hrithik was the top choice for the role of Prabhas. However, Shobu addressed this matter directly, refuting any speculation. He commented, “I see online comments about us considering Hrithik for Baahubali’s role, but that never took place. Prabhas was our choice from day one.” For those unaware, Prabhas took on dual roles as Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali in the film.
Runtime Details of Baahubali: The Epic
Shobu also corrected rumors regarding the film’s length, stating that it would not exceed three hours and forty minutes, rather than the five hours that some suggested. He said, “We have preserved all primary scenes featuring Prabhas and Rana. The songs and certain scenes might see some trimming.”
