Dick Move Unveils New Album and Releases Bold Single ‘Nurses’

Dick Move is set to release their highly anticipated album this year. The Aotearoa punk band, known for their energetic sound, will drop Dream, Believe, Achieve on November 14th through 1:12 Records and Flying Nun Records.
Album Details
This new offering is described as featuring "13 tracks of unrelenting energy." The Auckland-based band promises that their signature punk rock anthems will deliver excitement in just 25 minutes. One of the standout singles, “Nurses,” critiques the misguided policies of neoliberal governments.
Powerful Lyrics
Vocalist Lucy Suttor shares her thoughts on the track, stating, “When the government chooses landlords over nurses, it’s not neglect, it’s strategy. Defund, destabilise, privatise – that’s the playbook. And we’re calling it out.”
Previous Singles
“Nurses” follows the earlier single “Fuck It,” which similarly challenges outdated systems and also makes the cut for the upcoming album.
Production Insights
Dream, Believe, Achieve was tracked and mixed by De Stevens at Roundhead Studios, with Peter Ruddell, a friend of the band, handling production. Mikey Young took charge of the mastering to ensure a polished finish.
The Band’s Journey
Comprising Suttor, Lucy Macrae, Hariet Ellis, Justin Rendell, and Luke Boyes, Dick Move previously released their album Wet in 2023.
Recognition and Impact
Wet was recognized as one of the Best New Zealand Albums of the 2020s, ranking No. 49. The band has been making waves since their formation in 2019 at Whammy Bar, becoming favorites on the local punk scene.
With their vibrant live performances, they’ve continued to build a solid reputation. Their thrilling sound has even led to a substantial support slot when the Foo Fighters visited.
