Dhanashree Verma’s Clever Jibe at ‘Buri Nazar Wale’ Sparks Speculation

Dhanashree Verma posted a cryptic message that many believe is a response to Samay Raina’s previous remarks involving cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal.
Comedian Samay Raina has ignited conversations surrounding Dhanashree Verma and her ex-husband, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, with his comments. Following this, Dhanashree reportedly responded with a cryptic message on social media, stating, “buri nazar wale tera muh kala.”
Dhanashree’s Response to Samay
Recently, Samay shared a screenshot from a video on his Instagram profile, tagging Chahal with the caption “Love you, my sugar daddy,” accompanied by playful emojis.
Chahal famously donned a t-shirt that read, “Be your own sugar daddy,” during his divorce proceedings, which sparked much discussion about their separation.
Samay’s caption seemed to reference this t-shirt message. Dhanashree’s response appeared to be indirect but was quickly picked up by netizens.
In her Instagram Story, she showcased a picture of her dog with a caption from the dog’s perspective, saying, “Don’t worry, guys, meri mumma ka acha samay hi chal raha hai (Don’t worry, guys, my mom’s going through a good phase).” The post also included a ‘Nimbu mirchi’ GIF stating, “Buri nazar wale tera muh kala (evil eye be gone).”

Dhanashree’s post followed Samay’s ad with RJ Mahvash, where they poked fun at her. The video opened with Mahvash stating her favorite letter is M, to which Samay cheekily replied, “Mera hai U, Z (Yuzvi).”
When asked about his life recently, Samay remarked, “Beech mein bas Rise and Fall ho gaya tha mera, but ab sab sahi hai. Bas pehle 2 mahine mein it was an issue (I went through a bit of a rise and fall in the middle, but now everything’s fine. It was mainly an issue in the first 2 months).”
Dhanashree has been visible in the reality series Rise and Fall, where she frequently discusses her divorce.
Dhanashree and Chahal’s Relationship
Dhanashree married Chahal in Gurugram in December 2020. Their meeting occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic when Chahal sought dance lessons from her. They separated in June 2022, and on February 5, they pursued a mutual divorce, which was finalized in March this year.
In August, Dhanashree first addressed her divorce during a podcast on Humans of Bombay on YouTube. She recollected feeling overwhelmed at the court during the final hearing, stating, “Even though we were well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I couldn’t express what I was feeling, and I just started howling.”
After their split, Chahal was seen at the Champions Trophy final in Dubai with RJ Mahvash, leading to romance speculation, although Mahvash has clarified they are just friends.
