After a five-year wait, the new Deftones album is finally set to drop. The band announced the release of their latest work, *private music*, slated for August 22 through Reprise and Warner Records. Along with the announcement, they unveiled the single “my mind Is a mountain.”

The cover art for *private music* showcases a striking green backdrop adorned with a white snake. The album features 11 tracks, including titles like “souvenir,” “cut hands,” “metal dream,” and “departing the body.”

### A Collaborative Effort

This album signifies a return for band members Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado, who co-produced the project with Nick Raskulinecz in locations like Malibu, Joshua Tree, and Nashville. Raskulinecz previously collaborated with the band on *Diamond Eyes* (2010) and *Koi No Yokan* (2012).

## Upcoming Tour and Celebrations

To celebrate the album’s release, Deftones will kick off their tour with a show in Vancouver on August 22. The band is scheduled to perform in various cities, including Minneapolis, Buffalo, Toronto, Cleveland, Baltimore, St. Louis, Denver, Louisville, and Sacramento. Phantogram and Idles will be joining them on this tour.

The band’s last album, *Ohms*, was released in September 2020, featuring tracks like “Genesis,” “The Spell of Mathematics,” and “Ceremony.” They toured in 2021 following the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
