The film launched at a robust ₹9 crore net in India on Tuesday. On its second day, it only experienced a slight decline of 14%, earning ₹7.75 crore. By Thursday, the third day, it added another ₹6 crore, taking its total domestic collections to ₹22.75 crore. The drop in earnings on Thursday was just over 22%.
In contrast, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s film, Thamma, which released simultaneously, saw a 33% decrease in earnings. Despite Thamma generating higher revenue due to more screens, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has shown resilience during weekdays. Its total decline from Tuesday to Thursday stands at 33%, while Thamma has dropped nearly 50% during the same period.
Looking ahead, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’s team hopes to boost box office numbers, especially during the weekend. If it surpasses ₹50 crore net by Sunday, it would be a significant win, especially given its modest production budget of ₹25 crore.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, this romantic drama features Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa in pivotal roles, alongside Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. Although it received lukewarm reviews, audiences, particularly in non-metro areas, have responded positively.
