Walk The Line Documentary Nominated for International Emmy Award
The acclaimed documentary series, Walk The Line, has garnered an International Emmy Award nomination in the Current Affairs category for 2024. This three-part series chronicles the perilous journeys undertaken by Chinese migrants striving for “The American Dream” as they navigate risky paths to reach the United States.
Since its debut, the Walk The Line series on YouTube has amassed over 5.2 million views. Viewers have lauded its stunning cinematography and thorough investigation, which captures the struggles the migrants endure along their journey.
Additionally, CNA has released an interactive feature to offer audiences deeper insights into the daunting ventures of these migrants.
Award Recognition for Walk The Line
Walk The Line’s nomination adds to its impressive collection of awards. It claimed the title of Best Documentary Series at the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards, alongside receiving a silver award at the 2024 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards and a gold at the 2025 World Media Festivals Television & Corporate Media Awards. It also secured both gold and silver accolades at the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
Correspondent Wei Du further highlighted the series’ achievements by winning Best Factual Presenter at last year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards and a gold award at the New York Festivals.
This nomination marks the second consecutive year for a CNA documentary at the International Emmys, following The Exiles’ nomination in the best documentary category last year.

In its Emmy category, Walk The Line will face strong contenders, including the UK’s Dispatch: Kill Zone: Inside Gaza, France’s Philippines: Diving For Gold, and Brazil’s Enforced Disappearances.
Upcoming Awards Ceremony
The winners of the International Emmy Awards will be revealed during the 53rd Gala in New York City on November 24. Bruce L Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy, noted that this year’s nominations reflect the industry’s strength across 26 countries. He stated, “New York City will once again serve as the global stage this November, where we will honour their remarkable achievements.”
