“Changes” taps into a polished Eighties pop sound. It features vibrant guitar riffs, shiny keyboard melodies, gated snare beats, and a powerful choir that elevates the final chorus. The lyrics explore themes of transformation and uncertainty, expressing, “There’s been some changes in our life/I can feel the distance, space and time/Made everything different, day and night/Everything has changed but I don’t know why.”

## A Nostalgic Adventure

Directed by Charlotte Rutherford, the music video captures the essence of a simpler, pre-digital era. Puth embarks on a whimsical journey filled with charming claymation figures and classic stop-motion techniques. Notably, his wife, Brooke Sansone, makes an appearance. ## Upcoming Album Release

*Whatever’s Clever!* is slated for release on March 6, 2026, under Atlantic Records. The album is co-produced by BloodPop, known for collaborations with artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. This will mark Puth’s fourth album and his first since the 2022 release of *Charlie*.

While “Changes” will definitely be included, the complete tracklist remains under wraps. Fans are curious whether it will feature earlier singles like “That’s Not How This Works,” “Lipstick,” and “Hero.” Puth also released a holiday track, “December 25th,” last year, which he created spontaneously while working on this new album.

## Live Performances

Recently, Puth introduced “Changes,” along with several other songs, during a special four-night residency at New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club. This event included a memorable appearance by Puth’s musical idol, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Following this, he is set to perform another sold-out series of shows in Los Angeles, starting on October 16.
