Cha Hyun-seung Reveals Leukemia Diagnosis: Updates from Single’s Inferno Star
Cha Hyun-seung, the talented South Korean dancer and actor, recently shared some difficult news. He announced on September 27 that he has been diagnosed with leukemia, a serious form of blood cancer. Cha gained international fame through his appearances in popular Netflix series like Single’s Inferno and Physical: 100.
In his heartfelt Instagram post, the 34-year-old shared several images of himself bald and in the hospital, expressing his emotions in both Korean and English.
Cha recounted that he was rushed to the emergency room in June, where he received his shocking diagnosis. He described this moment as a sudden halt in his life, as he had been pursuing his dreams with unwavering focus until then.
He expressed that coming to terms with his leukemia diagnosis has been a struggle, filled with daily fear and confusion. However, Cha is committed to sharing his journey honestly.
Currently undergoing treatment, he stated that he is “quietly fighting day by day,” and remains hopeful. “The road ahead is long, but I will overcome this,” he assured his fans, maintaining his desire to return to the stage and in front of the camera.
Cha extended his gratitude to all who have supported him, promising to return stronger and more resilient.
Since his announcement, numerous celebrities from Korea and beyond have expressed their support. Notably, Arden Cho, known for her role in KDrone Hunters, sent a message of encouragement, saying: “Wishing you strength and speedy recovery! Fighting! You’re young and strong, you got this!”
Cha’s co-star from Single’s Inferno, Kang So-yeon, also offered her support, stating: “Hyun-seung will do well as always; I’ll be praying and waiting!”
