BOY SODA Unveils Debut Album 'Soulstar' with Upcoming Headline Concerts

Emerging talent BOY SODA has revealed that his debut album, Soulstar, will be released on October 3.

This soulful artist from Sydney has been swiftly gaining recognition since the launch of his funky R&B single “Lil’ Obsession,” which has amassed over 3 million streams globally.

The album will include this track alongside the follow-up single “Blink Twice,” featuring a collection of 13 songs that will be released just in time for his headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, scheduled for October 1 and 11.

Creative Process Behind the Album

BOY SODA recorded the album in the picturesque Blue Mountains. He collaborated with his “talented mates,” incorporating a dynamic horn section, string quartet, backing vocals, live piano, drums, congas, and lap steel guitar.

“There was this communal feeling that we were all doing something really incredible and special,” BOY SODA expressed. “It felt over-indulgent being able to use so many live instruments.”

He acknowledges the unique opportunity this project presents. “Who better to call on than your talented friends to create something extraordinary?” he added.

New Single Release: “4K”

To celebrate the album announcement, BOY SODA has released his third single, “4K,” featuring Dean Brady and Siala.

He shared, “We made ‘4K’ when everyone was staying at our spot, and it’s such an honor to collaborate with artists as amazing vocally and artistically as Dean and Siala. Their contributions feel vital to the soulful R&B scene we’re striving to cultivate in Australia.”

The trio often spends time together creating music, so it’s rewarding for BOY SODA to have a song like “4K” that embodies their shared passion for infusing their souls into their work.
