Blackpink Ends London Show with Epic Cover of Spice Girls’ ‘Wannabe’

Blackpink captivated audiences at Wembley Stadium in London over the weekend, marking a historic moment as the first K-pop girl group to headline the venue. They delivered an unforgettable experience for their devoted fans.
Tribute to Icons
On Saturday, the talented group paid homage to an iconic girl group by performing the Spice Girls’ classic hit from 1996, “Wannabe.” Fans shared clips of Blackpink joyfully dancing and singing along, completely embracing the joyous atmosphere during their inaugural performance at such a renowned venue.
This cover seems to resonate deeply with the members—Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé have expressed their admiration for the Spice Girls in the past. In 2023, during their guest appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, they sang this iconic song. Lisa revealed how much she idolized the Spice Girls growing up, while Jennie highlighted the distinct characters that each member brought, something Blackpink aspires to as well.
A Surprise Appearance
On Friday night, Rosé delighted fans with a surprise appearance by FKA Twigs. During Rosé’s solo performance, the audience witnessed both stars engaging in a Korean drinking game, which served as inspiration for her single “APT.” Backstage, they shared shots and snacks prior to Rosé taking the stage to perform “APT.”
Continuing the Tour
Currently, Blackpink is in the midst of their Deadline World Tour, with their London performances concluding a European leg of the tour. Next stops include Taiwan and Thailand in October, followed by additional shows across Asia in November, including performances in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore.
