Ayo Edebiri lent a helping hand to Rhea Seaborn during a charming moment at the 2024 Emmys red carpet. The 28-year-old star of Bottoms was caught on camera assisting her fellow nominee with her lashes and enhancing her smokey eye makeup. In the footage, a grateful Seaborn, 51, expresses, “Thank you so much,” to which Edebiri responds with a nod of approval, signifying her makeup task was completed.
Emmys Nominations and Looks
Both actresses were contenders for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category. Edebiri earned her nomination for portraying Sidney in The Bear, while Seaborn received recognition for her role in the final season of Better Call Saul.
Seaborn showcased classic Hollywood elegance in a stunning green beaded gown designed by Naeem Khan and adorned with jewelry from Jennifer Meyer, Graziela Gems, and Effy. In contrast, Edebiri chose a striking leather corset gown from Louis Vuitton, paired with a chic blunt bob and sophisticated accessories.
Celebrating Success Together
During a pre-show livestream on People, Edebiri shared her joy in celebrating achievements with her close-knit The Bear family, including co-star Jeremy Allen White, who has also enjoyed a successful awards season.
“Exciting is definitely the word, and I think we all just feel very grateful,” she said. “We created the show with zero expectations, so to see such a positive reception feels like a blessing.”
A Heartfelt Acceptance Speech
Edebiri articulated similar sentiments as her co-star during his acceptance speech for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2024 Golden Globes. Unlike him, who had clinched the award the previous year, Edebiri appeared awestruck and nervous while accepting her win for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series, openly thanking everyone who supported her journey.
“I am immensely grateful for this. I’m surrounded by people whose work has inspired me,” she remarked. “Being an artist is a privilege, and we all share in this feeling of gratitude.”
Edebiri continued, expressing love for her colleagues, including her The Bear family: “I adore you guys, and it’s a privilege to work alongside you and grow together.”
“I’m also grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press and my family. There may be many people I forgot to thank. Thank you to all my agents and managers, especially those who deal with my countless emails,” she added with humor. “If I overlooked anyone, my apologies—unless you were unpleasant!”
