Ariana Grande Reflects on Madonna’s Kind Greeting During Her Rise to Fame
## Ariana Grande Reflects on Support from Music Icons
Ariana Grande cherishes the encouragement she received from her musical heroes during the early stages of her career. In a recent conversation on Evan Ross Katz’s *Shut Up Evan* podcast, the pop sensation spoke about the warm support she experienced from stars like Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and especially Madonna.
### A Heartfelt Welcome from Madonna
Grande expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’m very lucky that my idols have been very kind to me… I remember Madonna immediately was very kind. I think she was one of the first people to reach out and give me a warm welcome, and it was just really cool. I was overwhelmed by it because I love her so much.”
Their relationship blossomed over the years, with Grande covering Madonna’s iconic song “Vogue” during her Honeymoon Tour in 2015. Additionally, they shared the stage at Miami’s Raising Malawi event in 2016, where they performed “Music” together. Madonna even lent her voice to Grande’s hit “God Is A Woman.”
### Deep Respect for Madonna
During a 2017 feature with *Cosmopolitan*, Grande voiced her profound admiration for Madonna. “I love her with every ounce of my being, and not just because of her ability to outlast the blatant bullying and bullshit she’s had to put up with or because I’m obsessed with her entire discography,” she reflected. “I’m so inspired by her bravery and her strength. I can look at her and not be scared to be strong.”
### Cherished Moments with Other Icons
In her recent interview, Grande also recalled the kindness she received from Mariah Carey, with whom she has collaborated multiple times. She reminisced about meeting Beyoncé in 2013: “Beyoncé had me come visit a music video she was shooting, and I was just there in the corner. I was like, ‘Why am I here?’ She invited me to set after I sang ‘Tattooed Heart’ on the AMAs. She was so kind and offered me some advice.”
Grande concluded, “I feel like I had people I really looked up to embrace me. It made me feel safe.”
