Filmmaker Amar Kaushik recently discussed his decision to cast Aneet Padda in the upcoming film Shakti Shalini. This project is a part of the growing Maddock Films Horror Comedy Universe. Kaushik noted that Aneet is “perfectly suited” for the character, expressing his confidence in her leading role.
With the recent release of Thamma featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, excitement is building around what’s next in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Many fans speculate that Shakti Shalini may become one of the franchise’s most ambitious projects yet.
Previously, there were discussions about casting, which led to speculation. However, Amar’s confirmation reaffirms that Aneet is indeed part of the project.
Speaking with Bollywood Hungama, he stated, “During the writing phase, we recognized the need for a younger actor. After watching her in Saiyaara, we knew she was the perfect fit. She heard the story and instantly agreed to join.”
Aneet Padda’s role in Shakti Shalini represents a significant shift from her previous character in Saiyaara. This new role allows her to showcase a different range of acting skills. While initial reports hinted that Kiara Advani was a contender for the lead role, Aneet ultimately secured it. The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe continues to grow, gaining popularity with films like Stree and Bhediya.
Shakti Shalini is scheduled for release on December 24, 2026, with more details about the plot and cast yet to be revealed.
