Bollywood icon Ajay Devgn recently shared his perspective on sequels, stating that he has no issues with returning for a second installment of a film, provided the script is compelling enough. This is particularly relevant in his career, as he has been involved in various sequel projects.
Embracing Good Stories
In the current year, Devgn has appeared in three sequels: "Raid 2," "Son of Sardaar 2," and the upcoming "De De Pyaar De 2," set to hit theaters on November 14. He emphasizes, "I don’t mind sequels as long as there is a good script… Like most artists, I hope it is liked by the audiences." His excitement stems from his collaboration with director Luv Ranjan, whom he describes as innovative and timely.
The Story of "De De Pyaar De 2"
The original "De De Pyaar De," released in 2019, depicted an unusual romance between a 50-year-old man named Ashish and his 26-year-old girlfriend, Aisha. The sequel will shift the focus to Aisha introducing Ashish to her parents, with R. Madhavan playing her father.
At the trailer launch event, Devgn was also asked about his experience wooing Kajol’s family during their dating years. He shared some light-hearted advice, suggesting, “Don’t be too smart and don’t overdo it; otherwise, they’ll have more expectations from you.”
Cast Reflections
Rakul Preet Singh, who reprises her role as Aisha, expressed her joy at returning to a character she holds dear. She stated, “Ayesha is one of my most favorite characters… I had double the fun shooting for part two.”
Meanwhile, Madhavan noted the unique experience of working alongside Ajay Devgn. He found himself nervous about playing a father to a character much younger, given that both actors are close in age.
A Promising Ensemble
In addition to Ajay and Madhavan, "De De Pyaar De 2" features the father-son duo of Jaaved Jaaferi and Meezaan Jafri, along with Gautami Kapoor and Ishita Dutta. The film is produced by T-Series and Luv Films, further underscoring the anticipation surrounding its release.
