Abhishek Bachchan Responds to Claims of Buying Best Actor Award
Abhishek Bachchan has taken significant strides in Bollywood, often in the long shadow of his iconic father, Amitabh Bachchan. He debuted in the industry with Refugee in 2000. Over the years, he has worked hard to be recognized for his uniqueness amidst constant comparisons. His recent Filmfare Award for Best Actor for I Want to Talk marked a high point in his career, despite some controversy surrounding it.
This morning, journalist Navneet Mundhra shared his views on Abhishek’s achievement on Twitter. In his controversial tweet, he stated, “As much as he’s an affable guy, I hate to say that professionally #AbhishekBachchan is the prime example of how buying awards and aggressive PR pushes can keep you relevant… even if you don’t have a single SOLO blockbuster in your career.”
Abhishek responded with grace, stating, “Just to set the record straight. Never has any award been bought or aggressive PR been done by me. Just hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But, doubt you’ll believe anything I say or write. So…. Best way to shut you up is by working even harder so that you don’t ever doubt any achievement that will happen in the future, again. I will prove you wrong!”
Fans have shown immense support for Abhishek, praising his performance in I Want to Talk. Some reviewers even claimed he outshone his legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan. Have you watched the film yet?
