Reflecting on His Relationship with Anurag

Abhinav described their relationship as deeply emotional. “This is a personal matter between me and Anurag. Many people don’t realize we grew up close together, sharing the same boarding school in Gwalior and attending Delhi University. We came to Mumbai together and worked in the same industry,” he explained.

He added that their bond has always been intense. “We know each other better than anyone else, even our parents. Our arguments are common. He’s older and has raised his hand at me during disagreements, but I can’t retaliate because he is my elder brother. The last conversation left me feeling he was at fault, so I chose to stop communicating,” he shared.

Abhinav also clarified misconceptions regarding Anurag’s comments circulating on social media, stating that many such remarks are misinterpreted. He acknowledged that Anurag is his mentor and has significantly influenced his career.

Abhinav’s Contribution to the Film Industry

Abhinav began as a screenwriter in the Hindi film industry, co-writing the 2007 acclaimed film Manorama Six Feet Under. His directorial debut came with the blockbuster Dabangg in 2010, featuring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, which became a massive success.

Despite this success, Abhinav chose not to direct the sequel due to creative differences. He pursued unique narratives in films like Besharam (2013) with Ranbir Kapoor, showcasing his commitment to exploring distinct characters and themes.
