Drake Officially Cancels Rescheduled Shows in Australia and New Zealand
## Drake Cancels Australian and New Zealand Shows
Drake has officially scrapped his shows in Australia and New Zealand that were postponed earlier this year. After performing in notable cities including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, the Canadian artist had plans for back-to-back nights in Auckland along with additional performances in Brisbane and Sydney throughout March. Unfortunately, these dates will not be happening.
### Official Statement from Live Nation Australia
Live Nation Australia confirmed that the postponed shows are now officially cancelled. In their announcement, they stated, “Live Nation Australia regrets to inform you that the previously postponed Drake shows in Australia and New Zealand have now been officially cancelled. Despite extensive efforts to find a solution, rescheduling within the necessary timeframe was not possible.”
However, there’s a glimmer of hope as they added, “Drake remains committed to returning and performing these shows when his schedule permits.”
For those holding tickets, all purchases for the cancelled events will be refunded. Fans are advised to check their email for details regarding the refund process.
### Drake’s Recent Appearances
Even after the tour cancellations, Drake was recently seen enjoying himself front row at WWE’s Elimination Chamber in Toronto, alongside fellow rapper Lil Yachty. His appearance comes shortly after the announcement of his postponed concerts, raising eyebrows about a potential “scheduling conflict.”
Interestingly, his time in Australia coincided with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, which added further drama to their ongoing rivalry. Kendrick performed wearing a diamond chain featuring a lowercase “a” and delivered his track “Not Like Us,” garnering significant attention.
While in Australia, Drake surprised fans with an exclusive 90-minute set at a popular location on Bourke St, featuring unreleased tracks and deep cuts for just 100 lucky attendees. He also hosted a private dinner and partied at Maison Batard’s Le Club in Melbourne, creating the ultimate experience for rap enthusiasts.
What do you think of Drake’s unexpected cancellations? Would you have been among the lucky fans at his surprise performance?
