Lulu Simon’s Discontent with Richard Gere
Lulu Simon has made it clear: her feelings towards Richard Gere remain negative. Recently, the pop artist took to social media to express her frustration over Gere’s actions concerning her childhood home.
A Broken Promise
Lulu alleges that Gere, after purchasing the property from her father, Paul Simon, agreed to maintain the estate. In her Instagram Stories, she stated, "He bought my childhood home, promised he would take care of the land as a condition of his purchase." However, she claims he ultimately sold the property to a developer, dividing it into nine plots.
What Happened to the House?
After the sale, Hudson Valley House Parts was involved in preserving parts of the 1938 brick Colonial home. Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, sold the estate for $10.75 million in 2022 when they relocated to Spain.
Strong Words on Social Media
Lulu further emphasized her long-standing dislike for Gere by sharing a photo of him, with images of animals in the background. She captioned this image with a sharp comment about her deceased pets buried on the property, stating, "I hope my dead pets buried in that backyard haunt you until you descend into a slow and unrelenting madness."
Community Concerns
When Gere and Silva first bought the 32-acre estate, they had plans to transform much of the land into a farm. During a local government meeting, their lawyer assured residents that the historic property wouldn’t be converted into commercial real estate, quelling some neighborhood fears.
Do you think Lulu Simon’s reaction is justified, or should past agreements be set aside for the greater good?
