Travis Frontman Hails Oasis as They Gear Up for Australia Tour
Fran Healy, frontman of the band Travis, has shared his thoughts on Oasis, stating they are performing exceptionally well during their reunion tour.
Travis is set to return to Australia after a 24-year hiatus. The renowned Scottish band will play their first shows in the country since their sold-out tour in 2001, marking a long-awaited comeback.
The BRIT Award-winning group is touring in celebration of their classic album, The Man Who, which has achieved platinum status in Australia, selling over 110,000 copies.
During their upcoming performances in cities like Fremantle, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane, Travis will play The Man Who in its entirety, along with other cherished tracks from their extensive catalog.
Before Travis takes the stage, their former touring partners, Oasis, will conclude their own Australian tour, kicking off tonight in Melbourne.
“I met Noel in New York, and I met the rest of them there as well. I didn’t see Bonehead until they played in LA a few days later,” Healy reminisced, noting that they feel “no pressure” during their performances.
“There’s really no better position to be in than a band with 18 or 20 massive songs. They could perform effortlessly… It’s akin to having the best holiday ever, and they’ve got their families along for the ride, simply enjoying themselves.”

Healy also praised how the Gallagher brothers have approached their reunion, noting, “Liam is singing better than he’s ever sung. That’s a significant difference… Liam is treating it like an athlete. He’s not smoking or drinking and arrives just before the show, leaving shortly after. Noel is also clearly enjoying himself. They’re playing remarkably.”
The beloved album The Man Who produced favorite tracks in Australia like “Driftwood,” “Turn,” and “Why Does It Always Rain on Me?” and made quite an impact during its original release.
