“I am thrilled to announce The Midwest Princess Project,” Roan expressed in a recent statement. The project kicks off with over $400,000 raised through ticket sales from her pop-up concerts during the “Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things” tour.

The tour featured multiple organizations that will partner with the nonprofit. These include the Ali Forney Center and the LGBT Center in New York, as well as the Trans Wellness Center, TransLatin@ Coalition in Los Angeles, and the GLO Center and the Center Project in Missouri. “These local organizations support the LGBTQ+ community and provide essential programming and resources for trans youth,” a message from the nonprofit’s official website notes.

On Instagram, Roan clarified how the donation process works regarding her live shows. “Aside from transaction fees for hosting the donation page and minor costs for my team, we are committed to donating every dollar possible to the organizations that need it most,” she stated.

Earlier this year, Roan motivated fellow artists to contribute to Backline, a nonprofit that offers mental health resources for music industry professionals. She leveraged her Grammy Awards acceptance speech to call on music labels to ensure livable wages and healthcare for artists. Roan spearheaded the “We Got You” initiative, starting with a $25,000 donation, which musicians Charli XCX and Noah Kahan pledged to match.

With her own nonprofit, Roan aims to inspire more individuals to invest in causes that matter. “I was hesitant to tour in the U.S. until the very last minute. I’m so glad I decided to,” Roan shared with the sold-out audience at a recent concert. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “Last year, I often questioned, ‘Why am I doing this?’ But performing again made it clear: it’s all about bringing joy to queer people and demonstrating that it’s okay to be themselves.”
