South Korean Actor Lee Yi-kyung Faces Legal Action Over Explicit Chat Screenshots

Recently, screenshots allegedly showing South Korean actor Lee Yi-kyung, aged 36, engaging in inappropriate chat exchanges with several unnamed women have emerged online. These images surfaced on social media and various community forums on October 20, featuring what appear to be conversations from KakaoTalk and Instagram, accompanied by selfies of the actor.

In response to the situation, Lee Yi-kyung’s management agency, Sangyoung ENT, promptly released a statement indicating their intention to take legal action against the “falsehoods and malicious rumors circulating online.” They clarified that both the original sources and those who share defamatory material could face legal consequences.

“We are preparing to take legal measures,” the agency stated. “Our approach will depend on the severity of the situation and the direct and indirect harm caused by these disruptions.” They further emphasized that sharing such content could also lead to legal repercussions, urging the public to be cautious to avoid unnecessary damage.

“We are committed to protecting our artists to the best of our abilities, based on information received from fans and our own monitoring,” the statement concluded. This proactive stance aims to address the ongoing spread of harmful content.
