Priyamani: Advocating Flexibility Among Actors in Entourage Debate
Priyamani discusses high entourage costs in Bollywood, highlighting the importance of finding balance between actors and producers.
Priyamani is the latest voice in the ongoing discussion about the high costs of entourages in Bollywood.
At 42, she emphasizes that both producers and actors need to be flexible. “Actors should be more accommodating. We must consider everyone’s situation. Being flexible is essential as we are here to work, and that should remain our focus. However, personal choice plays a significant role,” she states.
Balancing Necessity and Demand
Sharing insights from her career, Priyamani believes that having a truly necessary entourage is key. While she notes that some producers might have agreed to unreasonable demands before, not every producer will support such a large team.
“I can only draw from my experiences. If your team is genuinely required, then it works out. Some production houses may have previously accepted these demands, but many others are less inclined,” she shares.
The Journey of Realization
As she prepares for The Family Man Season 3, Priyamani reflects, “For a long time, I wasn’t even aware that actors could have dedicated individuals helping them to prepare for events or interviews. It was later in my career that I came to understand this possibility, thanks to the support of a friend who helped me with styling.”
What are your thoughts on the need for flexibility in actor entourages? Would you agree with Priyamani’s perspective?
