Hina Khan speaks on taboos regarding cancer and work
Hina Khan, known for her role in “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” discussed the stigma around artists in the entertainment sector battling cancer. In an interview with a news agency, she emphasized the importance of mental health support during such trying times.
Continuing work during treatment
Khan described that individuals undergoing cancer treatment shouldn’t feel compelled to stay home. “The belief that a cancer patient must be inactive and that their life is over is misguided. Yes, there are challenging days, but resilience and familial support can help you return to work,” she stated.
Commitment to acting
Hina declared that she plans to continue her acting career as long as her health permits. “As long as my body allows, I will keep working. Mental resilience plays a crucial role; if you view this challenge lightly, it becomes manageable,” she asserted.
Details on Hina’s diagnosis
Last June, Hina publicly revealed her diagnosis of stage three breast cancer via Instagram, expressing her commitment to fighting the illness. In her post, she mentioned, “I am strong and determined to overcome this. I ask for respect and privacy during this period as I navigate this journey.” She conveyed immense gratitude for the support received from family and fans.
