Health Challenges Force Dolly Parton to Postpone Vegas Residency

Dolly Parton has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, the first in over three decades, due to “health challenges.” The beloved country icon shared the news via her social media platforms.

Details on the Postponement

Although she did not specify her health conditions, Parton mentioned, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.” She lightheartedly referred to it as her “100,000-mile check-up,” humorously suggesting it’s not the typical appointment with her plastic surgeon.

Parton asserted that she is delaying the residency because she wants to deliver the high-quality performance her fans expect. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she added.

New Residency Dates

Originally slated for December 4 to 13, Parton was to host six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo. The new dates have now been rescheduled for September 2026.

Tickets purchased for the earlier dates will remain valid, and refunds will also be offered for those unable to attend the new dates.

Future Plans

“Don’t worry about me quitting the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” Parton reassured her fans. “But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

While she hasn’t embarked on a tour since her “Pure & Simple Tour” ended in 2016, Parton continues to be active. She is set to release a new book, “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage,” on November 11. Additionally, a musical inspired by her life will premiere on Broadway in 2026.

Recent Health Issues

Earlier this month, Parton missed the announcement of a new attraction at her Tennessee theme park Dollywood due to health concerns. In a video message, she revealed her struggle with a kidney stone that had caused complications and noted her doctor’s advice against traveling at that moment.

“So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit,” Parton lamented, expressing her disappointment at not being able to attend.

Personal Loss

In March, Parton experienced a significant loss with the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, who inspired her timeless hit “Jolene.” He was 82 years old.
