A tragic stabbing incident occurred outside of Phish’s concert at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The altercation took place just after 9:30 p.m. ET, prompting police intervention.

### Police Investigation

According to a report from the Hampton Police Division, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Authorities have indicated that they were able to identify “all parties involved,” suggesting that the event was an isolated incident.

“The first victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries,” Cpl. Shaun Stalnaker noted. A second victim is receiving medical care, whereas a third individual sought treatment at a local facility for a non-life-threatening laceration. As of Saturday, no suspect had been apprehended.

The Hampton Police Division is appealing to the public for any information that might assist in identifying the suspect related to the stabbing that occurred on September 19, 2025.

### Phish’s Response

Phish issued a heartfelt statement on their Instagram account addressing the incident. They expressed their sadness regarding the situation, noting they had limited information beyond what authorities reported.

“During last night’s show, a tragic incident took place in the parking lot outside Hampton Coliseum,” the band stated. “An altercation behind one of the tents in the unofficial vending area resulted in loss of life and injuries to others. We are deeply saddened by this and our hearts go out to all affected.”

Despite this unfortunate event, Phish continues their schedule at the Hampton Coliseum as part of their summer tour. The concerts planned for Saturday and Sunday nights will go on as intended.
