The date and venue for the upcoming 2025 ARIA Awards have been officially revealed. In a recent announcement, it has been confirmed that the event, in partnership with Spotify, will take place on Wednesday, November 19. This marks the 39th edition of the awards, and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion will host the ceremony for the fourth consecutive year.

## A New Award for Music Festivals

This edition will introduce the **Best Music Festival Award**, supported by Tixel. This award aims to honor the significant contribution that local music festivals make to the Australian music scene.

### Spotlight on Live Music

ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd highlighted the critical role of live music festivals within Australia’s music framework. “Live music festivals are absolutely essential to Australia’s broader music ecosystem: connecting artists with new audiences, and creating critical opportunities for talent development,” she commented.

By launching the Best Music Festival Award, ARIA acknowledges festivals that actively support Australian talent. “Festivals shape our music culture, drive industry growth, and play a pivotal role in showcasing the diversity and strength of our local music community,” she added.

## Recap of Last Year’s Highlights

The previous year’s awards were a notable triumph for pop artist Troye Sivan, who had an impressive showing, only surpassed by the rising duo Royel Otis.

### Achievements of Royel Otis

Despite facing off against big names like Angie McMahon, SPEED, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, Royel Otis secured wins for **Best Group** and **Best Rock Album** for their debut work, *PRATTS & PAIN*.

Chris Collins, for his work on the same album, won the awards for **Engineer – Best Engineered Release** and **Producer – Best Produced Release**.

### Troye Sivan’s Wins

Troye Sivan grabbed the award for **Best Pop Release** with his album *Something to Give Each Other*, ultimately clinching two of the major accolades: **Album of the Year** and **Best Solo Artist**. His achievements in 2023 were even more remarkable, as he was honored with **Song of the Year** for “Rush,” alongside wins for **Best Solo Artist**, **Engineer – Best Engineered Release** (Styalz Fuego), and **Producer – Best Produced Release** (Styalz Fuego).
