Chet Faker to Host Exclusive One-Night Show in Sydney

Chet Faker Unveils New Track: 'Far Side of the Moon'

Chet Faker has revealed an exclusive one-night performance in Sydney scheduled for later this year. This event celebrates the tenth anniversary of his iconic debut album, Built on Glass, and will take place on the steps of the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, December 2nd. It promises to be a memorable night, serving as an encore to his highly praised anniversary concert in Melbourne last year.

Fans can expect a mix of beloved tracks and hidden gems from his career, including a full performance of the album. Anticipation is particularly high for hit songs like “Talk is Cheap,” which dominated the triple j Hottest 100 in 2014, and “Gold.”

Chet Faker’s Journey to Success

Since breaking onto the scene in 2011, Chet Faker has established a remarkable trajectory. His first EP, Thinking in Textures, won accolades such as Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Best Independent Single/EP at the AIR Awards, marking the beginning of his ascent.

In the years following, his cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” gained widespread recognition through a Super Bowl commercial, culminating in his debut album’s release in 2014, which earned him five ARIA Awards. Since then, he has crafted a critically lauded discography, including notable collaborations with Flume and Marcus Marr, as well as several albums released under his real name, Nick Murphy.

Recent Musical Offerings

This year, Chet Faker returned with a new single, “Far Side of the Moon,” which showcases that his artistic journey continues unabated. The song captures the emotional complexity of giving oneself too completely in a relationship.

“It’s about stretching yourself too thin for someone you love to the point where it’s not healthy for the relationship at all,” he shared. Following this, he recently released “Inefficient Love,” a raw and intimate exploration of enduring love, even when it feels unbalanced.

Over gentle guitar strums and soft, layered vocals, Faker reveals a deeply personal side. “’Inefficient Love’ came to me in a flash,” he revealed. “I was just playing guitar at home and wrote the whole thing in about five minutes. It feels timeless, and I’m really attached to it.”
