Bad Bunny Avoided U.S. Tour Stops Due to ICE Concerns at Concerts

Bad Bunny’s Controversial Tour Decision

Bad Bunny’s fans have been left puzzled after he announced that the continental United States would not be part of his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour. In a recent interview with i-D, he clarified that this choice is linked to the Trump administration’s aggressive policies on deportation that specifically impact the Latino community.

A Thoughtful Decision

When interviewer Suzy Exposito asked if his decision stemmed from concern for his Latino fans, Bad Bunny candidly replied, “Man, honestly, yes.” He emphasized that his absence from the U.S. wasn’t motivated by any animosity—having performed numerous successful shows there in the past.

Embracing Puerto Rican Roots

Part of Bad Bunny’s appeal lies in his residency in Puerto Rico, which he sees as an opportunity to connect with fans from around the globe. His No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency, concluding on September 14, has welcomed many visitors from the U.S., some of whom experienced the beauty of La Isla del Encanto for the first time.

He noted, “I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S., but specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico… People from the U.S. could come here to see the show,” highlighting the unique experience of his homeland.

Concerns Regarding ICE

Bad Bunny also shared his worries about potential confrontations with ICE outside his concerts, stating, “There was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert].” His apprehension reflects broader concerns regarding immigrant rights and safety.

The artist has not shied away from expressing his strong feelings against ICE and the administration, even posting a video on Instagram after witnessing a raid in Puerto Rico, where he voiced his frustrations about the agency’s actions.

Upcoming Tour Adventures

Bad Bunny is set to launch his Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour on November 21 in Santo Domingo, with plans to travel across Latin America until late February. Following that, he will entertain fans in Europe, Australia, and Tokyo. Notably, he has scheduled eight shows at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros in December and ten shows in Madrid in June.

What are your thoughts on Bad Bunny’s decision? Would you attend one of his shows in Puerto Rico or plan to catch him on tour elsewhere?
