Details of the Tragic Incident
A 22-year-old has been charged with the shocking murders of an American Idol music supervisor and her husband. Authorities revealed that the suspect allegedly used the couple’s firearm, which they had stored in their home.
During a town hall meeting in Encino on July 21, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman disclosed this disturbing information. According to him, after the alleged murders of Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca, suspect Raymond Boodarian utilized his cellphone to alert the police, identifying himself in the process.
Investigation Findings
Kaye and Deluca were found dead at their Encino residence on July 14 when LAPD officers conducted a wellness check. The following day, Boodarian was arrested “without incident,” as stated by the police.
He is facing two murder counts, with enhancements for committing the killings during a robbery, using a firearm intentionally, and for multiple murders. Additionally, he is charged with burglary. During a court appearance last week, he was ordered to remain in custody until his arraignment set for August 20, and he has not entered a plea as of yet.
Circumstances Surrounding the Case
LAPD investigators noted, “While no forced entry was observed during the initial investigation, it is now believed that the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked door. The victims arrived home while he was still inside, leading to a confrontation that resulted in their tragic deaths.”
Kaye had an extensive career as a music supervisor on American Idol, starting in 2009 and contributing to nearly 300 episodes. She also held the role of music supervisor for several other prominent shows, including Miss Universe and Lip Sync Battle. Deluca was recognized as a talented songwriter and musician.
