## Flume and Emma Louise Unite for New Album
Flume has officially collaborated with Australian singer-songwriter Emma Louise for a brand-new album.
### Album Details
The upcoming project, named *DUMB*, features ten tracks and is slated for release on August 22nd. The lead single, “Easy Goodbye,” is already available for listeners.
### Background of the Collaboration
This isn’t the first time the duo has joined forces. Previously, they collaborated on “Hollow,” which was part of Flume’s 2022 album *Palaces*. What began as a casual studio session in northern New South Wales has evolved into a full-length album.
### Musical Style
The album blends Emma Louise’s personal and candid songwriting with Flume’s distinctive glitchy and expansive production, making for an intriguing listening experience.
### Meaning Behind the Title
Emma Louise shared her thoughts on the album’s title: “The title DUMB carries significant weight for me. Growing up without a diagnosis of neurodivergence, I sometimes felt inadequate—struggling in school and often censoring myself to belong. In the studio, whenever we hit a creative wall, Harley and I would laugh and say ‘make it dumb’ to help alleviate our overthinking. This always worked.”
She continued, “Initially, naming the album *DUMB* felt liberating, but eventually, I recognized how deeply connected it was to my fear of being perceived as foolish or unworthy. This album represents my reclaiming of that term, shedding shame, and pledging to always embrace my voice.”
### Flume’s Recent Projects
This album follows Flume’s recent EP with JPEGMAFIA, titled *We Live In A Society*, marking his return after a two-year break. He is also in the process of working on his next solo album.
### Emma Louise’s Background
Emma Louise hails from North Queensland and is recognized for her works such as *Vs Head Vs Heart*, *Supercry*, and *Lilac Everything*.
### Flume’s Acclaimed Career
Flume emerged on the international stage in 2011 with his hit “Sleepless” and has since released three celebrated studio albums, numerous EPs, and mixtapes. His achievements include 13 ARIA Awards, two triple j Hottest 100 #1 hits, and a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Flume has also headlined significant festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands.
