## New Album Announcement: *Twilight Override*
Jeff Tweedy is set to release an expansive new triple album titled *Twilight Override*, arriving on September 26 through his label, dBpm Records. That’s right—three discs packed with 30 tracks! This upcoming project marks Tweedy’s first solo endeavor since 2020’s *Love Is the King*, showcasing the top-tier songwriting he’s produced over the past five years. It’s a true collection of highlights.
## Sneak Peek: New Tracks
To build excitement, Tweedy has shared four standout songs from the album. “One Tiny Flower,” the opening track of the first disc, offers a reflective folk vibe with an undercurrent of anxious energy. From the second disc, “Out in the Dark” flows leisurely with vibrant tones and playful studio effects. Journeying to the third disc, “Stray Cats in Spain” dives into a more ethereal soundscape, characterized by lush strings and the absence of percussion. Finally, there’s “Enough,” the closing song and radio single, bursting with lively folk-rock energy, highlighted by a captivating electric guitar solo. These tracks strongly indicate that *Twilight Override* will be a remarkable addition to Tweedy’s discography.
## Inspiration Behind the Music
In a recent press statement, Tweedy explained that he views creativity as a counterbalance to the pervasive darkness in today’s world. He described the current state of affairs as an “endless buffet” of negativity, prompting his prolific output. He candidly expressed how overwhelming it is to navigate these feelings, noting, “*Twilight Override* is my effort to overwhelm it right back.”
## The Collaborative Process
Tweedy recorded and produced *Twilight Override* at the Loft, Wilco’s studio in Chicago, collaborating with an array of talented musicians. His sons Spencer and Sammy joined him, along with guitarist James Elkington, bassist Liam Kazar, and singers Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, known for their work in the Chicago duo Finom. While some tracks may sound familiar to fans, others offer surprise elements, like the intriguingly titled “Lou Reed Was My Babysitter.”
## Upcoming Tour Dates
In addition to the album launch, Tweedy has announced several solo tour dates spanning October and November. Before embarking on this tour, Wilco will be performing in August as part of the Outlaw Tour alongside notable artists like Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.
