In recent years, Yami Gautam has risen to prominence as one of the leading actresses in Bollywood. With notable roles in films like *Article 370* and *A Thursday*, she has garnered numerous nominations for prestigious awards. Despite being recognized, she has yet to secure a major win, a fact she addressed in a recent interview.
While promoting her upcoming film, *Haq*, Yami delved into her perspective on awards during an interview with *The Hollywood Reporter India*. When questioned about her feelings toward being nominated without winning, she expressed that it doesn’t bother her. Drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, she stated, “As much as I have understood the Bhagwat Geeta, what Lord Krishna says to Arjun is true… I have stopped seeking validation from anyone.”
Yami’s breakthrough role in *Vicky Donor* earned her accolades; however, awards like the Filmfare and IIFA have eluded her since then. She emphasized valuing audience feedback over awards, saying, “If my audience loves me, what greater recognition can I ask for?”
Her latest venture, *Haq*, is a legal drama featuring Emraan Hashmi. The film, inspired by the Shah Bano case, portrays Yami as a Muslim woman challenging the legal system in pursuit of her rights post-divorce, set to debut on November 7.
