By Sunday, it had raked in about ₹120 crore net (₹144 crore gross) in India. Including $2.8 million from overseas, its total worldwide collection reached ₹167 crore after just 13 days.

While Thamma has secured its spot as the third-highest-grossing entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, it operates on a production budget exceeding ₹140 crore. When you factor in marketing expenses, its total cost is around ₹150 crore, classifying it as the priciest film in this franchise. Trade experts suggest it needs to exceed this threshold in net earnings to be officially recognized as a hit. Currently, it’s still about ₹30 crore short of that target.

Thamma has already begun to recover costs through ancillary revenue streams. Yet, in terms of box office definitions, it’s currently labeled an above-average grosser, trending towards hit status.
