The Indian women’s cricket team made history by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup on Sunday at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. This triumph marked their first World Cup title in nearly five decades, a feat celebrated by many Bollywood stars.
Bollywood Expresses Pride in Women’s World Cup Victory
As soon as the Indian team secured the title, social media was flooded with congratulatory messages from prominent Bollywood figures. Priyanka Chopra shared her excitement on Instagram, saying, “Congratulations to our champions #TeamIndia.”
Kareena Kapoor expressed her emotions, posting a video of the match’s final moments with the caption, “Still crying tears of joy,” accompanied by heart emojis.

Anushka Sharma echoed the sentiment with her post: “You champions!! SUCH A momentous achievement.” Kiara Advani shared, “What an incredible moment, you have created history!!! Congratulations to our Women in blue.”
Hrithik Roshan took to X, formerly Twitter, and exclaimed, “Jeet gaye (We won)!! HISTORIC! Congratulations Team India on our first Women’s Cricket World Cup win, to the beginning of many more!”
Abhishek Bachchan couldn’t contain his excitement, posting, “COME ONNNN!!!! INDIAAAAA!!! World champions. Well done ladies.” Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty praised the team’s determination, stating, “Sweat. Spirit. Grit. Sheer Heart. And that’s how HISTORY got a glow-up!”
Ajay Devgn added, “A night we’ll never forget. Thank you, champions. This team has shown the world what true grit and belief can do!”
Triptii Dimri expressed her pride by stating, “They did it. The women showed how it’s done.” Arjun Kapoor called it “Inspirational!!! Take a bow Team India,” and Varun Dhawan simply noted, “Proud Indian, proud cricket fan. Our heroes.”

The Indian women’s cricket team achieved a monumental milestone by defeating South Africa at the Dr DY Patil Stadium. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, they secured their first World Cup title in a remarkable performance.
While chasing a target of 299, South Africa fell short, bowled out for 246 runs in 45.3 overs. Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul and Shafali Verma’s impressive 87 runs earned her the Player of the Match title.
