Ayushmann Khurrana Reveals Wife Tahira’s Doubts About His Acting Career
Ayushmann Khurrana Reflects on His Journey
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently shared an interesting anecdote about his journey to becoming an actor. He remembered how his family’s expectations spurred him to excel in school and ultimately pursue a career in acting.
Tahira Kashyap’s Doubts About Ayushmann’s Career Choice
While reminiscing about his early days, Ayushmann recalled a time during their college years. He and his wife, Tahira Kashyap, were both studying Mass Communication at Panjab University. During a candid conversation, Tahira questioned his ambitions, asking, “What are you planning to do in life? How will you earn money?” Ayushmann expressed his dream of being an actor, to which she could only laugh and cry, saying, “Tum actor kaise ban sakte ho shakal dekho aapni (How can you become an actor? Look at your face?).”
He humorously noted that he was a “nerd” back then, and no one, including Tahira, saw an actor in him. Nevertheless, Ayushmann’s strong self-belief propelled him forward.
Parental Expectations and Education
Ayushmann also mentioned a condition set by his father concerning his choice of career. His father insisted that if Ayushmann wished to explore arts and theater, he needed to excel academically. “I topped my college for three years because I wanted to pursue a career in theatre,” he explained, showcasing how deeply rooted his aspirations were.
Inspired by his idol Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann believed that being educated would make him a more competent actor. After his college studies, he made his way to Mumbai to chase his dreams.
Recent and Upcoming Projects
Most recently, Ayushmann starred in the film “Thamma,” directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. This comedy horror film, part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, features notable actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal. Released around Diwali, it has accumulated over ₹155.25 crore globally.
Looking ahead, Ayushmann is set to appear in “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do,” the sequel to the 2019 hit. Co-starring Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh, the film is expected to hit theaters on March 4, 2026.
