Contestants from Bigg Boss 19, including Kunickaa Sadanand, Amaal Mallik, Shehbaz Badesha, Neelam Giri, and Tanya Mittal, have found themselves facing backlash for making hurtful comments about Ashnoor Kaur. Her father, Gurmeet Singh, recently stood up for her in a bold manner.
Ashnoor Kaur’s father speaks out
In an Instagram post, Gurmeet shared a video highlighting the negative remarks made by the contestants. He posed a poignant question: “Why is everyone so insecure about a 21-year-old? Oh, I know… they can’t match her levels of dignity and grace.”

Criticism from housemates
While discussing Ashnoor’s cooking, housemates Amaal and Shehbaz made remarks about her appearance. Amaal referred to her face as “egg-like,” while Shehbaz remarked, “She has become a thepla.”
Meanwhile, contestants Tanya, Kunickaa, and Neelam speculated about Ashnoor’s weight, questioning why she wasn’t losing weight despite her efforts. Neelam and Tanya derisively commented on her size, suggesting that her clothes would look better on them. Tanya even stated that Ashnoor appeared older than them during a clip shown on the show.
During a ration task, Tanya called Ashnoor “haathi” (elephant), which further sparked outrage among viewers who criticized the contestants for body shaming on national television. Numerous celebrities also rallied behind Ashnoor, condemning the remarks.
Recent events in Bigg Boss 19
This week, tensions heightened among housemates when Gaurav saved Ashnoor and Abhishek from nominations. Now, only these two remain safe from eviction. Pranit More has been appointed the new captain, and Salman Khan is expected to address the behavior of contestants during the next Weekend Ka Vaar.
