Arshad Warsi Reflects on Losing Parents Early: A Heartfelt Regret
Arshad Warsi reflects on his childhood loss and lingering regrets
Actor Arshad Warsi has candidly shared one of the most heart-wrenching experiences of his life: losing both of his parents at a tender age. During a conversation on Raj Shamani’s podcast, the star of Munna Bhai MBBS revealed that he was just 14 years old when both his mother and father passed away in quick succession, a loss that forced him to mature rapidly.
Arshad remembers his mother’s final moments
Warsi recounted his mother’s last days, during which she was struggling with kidney failure and undergoing dialysis. Doctors had instructed the family to restrict her water intake, but Arshad found it incredibly difficult to refuse her requests.
“She kept asking for water, and I kept saying no. The night before she passed, she called for me once more. She died that night, and I felt devastated. Part of me believes that if I had given her water, I would have blamed myself forever had she died afterwards. But as I reflect now, I realize that I should have just given her the water. Often, we make decisions rooted in our guilt rather than what the person truly desires,” he shared.
The loss of his parents drastically altered Arshad’s life. “We went from a spacious home to smaller ones. After my father struggled financially, their deaths hit me weeks later, despite not shedding tears immediately. I was trying to be the man of the house,” he added.
Current projects and future work
Arshad’s recent success, Jolly LLB 3, paired him with Akshay Kumar in a courtroom drama that premiered in September 2025, receiving positive reviews for its mix of humor and social commentary.
On the streaming platform ZEE5, he stars in the crime thriller Bhagwat – Chapter One: Raakshas alongside Jitendra Kumar. He made a recent appearance in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
Looking ahead, Arshad is part of the ensemble cast for Masti 4, which is anticipated for a November release. He will also collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan in the highly awaited action thriller, King.
