Jannat’s response to body-shaming incidents

On her Instagram story dated October 28, Jannat expressed her concerns regarding the rude remarks. She shared an image of Ashnoor, stating, “A person’s body is not public property for jokes and opinions. It’s 2025. We should have outgrown body-shaming by now. She’s on that stage because of her talent, confidence, and unstoppable spirit, not due to someone’s idea of a ‘perfect body.’ Proud of you, @ashnoorkaur, for remaining authentic and true to yourself.”

The controversy surrounding the remarks

The uproar began when Neelam Giri made a mocking comment during a recent episode, gesturing towards Ashnoor while asking Kunickaa Sadanand and Tanya Mittal, “Jurassic Park dekhoge?” (Will you watch Jurassic Park?) They were seen laughing afterward, with Tanya remarking that despite Ashnoor’s regular workouts, she had “gained weight again” and resembled her mother.

This led to a wave of outrage across social media platforms, with fans and celebrities demanding accountability from the show’s producers for failing to address the situation during the episode.

Rohan Mehra, Ashnoor’s co-star from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and former Bigg Boss 10 contestant, also expressed his support. He stated on his social media, “Body shaming is unacceptable. What happened to @ashnoorkaur today was wrong and should be condemned. Respect and kindness should be the bare minimum. Shame on you, @iam_kunickaasadanand, @neelamgiri_, and @tanyamittalofficial.”
