Chappell Roan to Honor Cyndi Lauper at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony
## A Celebration of Music and Influence
Chappell Roan is gearing up to honor the iconic Cyndi Lauper by inducting her into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the upcoming 40th annual ceremony on November 8. In a recent Instagram clip, Roan expressed her enthusiasm about this significant moment and highlighted the profound influence Lauper has had on her life and artistry.
Roan shared, “She has inspired me with her fashion, hair, and makeup, as well as her incredible music. I even auditioned with ‘True Colors’ for *America’s Got Talent* at 13. I didn’t succeed, but that song remains a masterpiece. I’m thrilled to be part of this event; thank you for the opportunity!”
## Mutual Admiration
Cyndi Lauper has also acknowledged Roan’s blossoming career in her interviews and documentary *Let the Canary Sing*. Lauper described Roan’s sound as “dusky, yearning keyboard pop” and admired her fashion sense, notably her hairstyle, saying it reminded her of her own look from her blues album, *Memphis Blues*. Lauper expressed a desire to connect with Roan further.
